Son of Gus Katsaros of New York and the former Mary Damascus of Boston. Grew up on Long Island and attended college at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Later attended Lehigh University for his MBA and Harvard University for an advanced management degree. Worked 33 years for a global industrial gas company in a variety of engineering, marketing, business management, and executive positions.

Has served on numerous non profit boards and advisory committees, including The Boys and Girls Club, SEMI, Dept. of Energy Hydrogen Committee, PA Business Roundtable, and a number of Church boards and ministries. Currently on the boards of two for profit companies.
