Frosene was born in Asheville, North Carolina. Her mother migrated from the Tripoli area of Greece and her father was born on the island of Chios. Frosene graduated from Miami High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Genevieve of the Pines in business administration.

Steve was born on the island of Halki, Constantinople. After Greek grammar school he enrolled in Megali tou Genous Sholi in Phanar for three years and eventually transferred to Sankt Georg Real and Handelschule (Austrian High in Constantinople). Steve graduated from North Carolina State University, Wilson College of Textiles.
