The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco encompasses the western region of the United States and is led by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos. The Metropolis is comprised of 67 parishes in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Under the direction of Metropolitan Gerasimos, the Metropolis supports its parishes and faithful through the efforts of 13 key ministries which include: Christian Education, Church Music, Clergy Continuing Education, Family Wellness, Folk Dance and Choral Festival, Greek Language and Culture, Greek Village Immersion Camp, Missions and Evangelism, Orthodox Parish Leadership, Philoptochos, Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center, Stewardship, and Youth and Young Adult Ministries. These ministries provide spiritual and educational programs for the preservation and perpetuation of our Orthodox faith and Hellenic culture, as well as social and outreach activities to support local and international communities.

“The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is far beyond just our seven states and 67 parishes. We are part of the greater church – our Holy Archdiocese as well as our Mother Church under the inspired leadership of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The establishment of this foundation to secure the future of Orthodoxy throughout the world, and to defend and protect the rightful place of Christendom in Constantinople is a noble cause and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is honored to be a founding member of this most worthwhile endeavor.”
